This fabulous restaurant has been in business for just over 1 year, opening October 2016.

The owners; Sunny and Evan Yang came to the USA from China, where Evan attended cooking school. They began their venture primarily to support their family. They picked Ontario because of its location and convenience, but instantly became enamored by its people.

Precious Chinese offers a varied menu, consisting of traditional home cooked Chinese, Thai and American dishes. There are also some tasty and unique dishes listed within the “Chef’s Specialties” section of the menu. Many of the Yang’s recipes were developed and tested at home and Evan’s father helped expand their extensive collection.

One of their popular dishes, black pepper crispy chicken, actually evolved through customer recommendations. Their dumpling offerings (steamed or fried) are all home made to order, from the freshest ingredients.

Sunny and Evan also generate new recipe ideas by collaborating with some of their restaurateur friends. “We expand on them, test them within our family and soon discover our customers also find they taste very good”.

Sunny defines success, through “customer satisfaction, good food, a varied menu and reasonable prices”. While she acknowledges her greatest inspiration is “our customers”. “They give me energy and make me want to do better”.

Within Precious Chinese, success is defined by “hard work”, and customer loyalty. They also provide complementary soda, or food with many of their orders. This helps to grow repeat and referral business.

Where do the Yang’s see themselves and their business in ten years? Sunny replied, without any hesitation…“Remaining in Ontario and purchasing a home in this community, sending our children to Ontario schools”. This is… truly precious.
