ONTARIO – Nov. 9, 2020. Ontario Chamber of Commerce members and Ontario

town officials gathered to welcome Mamia’s Island, an authentic Puerto Rican Restaurant, into the Ontario business community with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The restaurant is owned by Neymaris Sierra who was born and raised in Puerto Rico and re- located to the Ontario area eight years ago with her husband, Andrew Stewart, who is from Ontario and also her business partner. Her recipes have been in her family for years. She learned to cook from family members and has fond family memories of gatherings centered around the meal. Neymaris has always enjoyed serving and preparing meals and making people happy.

Mamia’s Island is located at 1808 NYS Rt 104 in Ontario and used local businesses and suppliers for materials in the renovation of the building. Hours are: Tuesday to Friday, 10:30 am to 7 pm; Saturday 12 – 5 pm; closed Sunday and Monday. There is limited seating inside but take – out is available all year and during the winter months, a drive-thru will be available. To pre-order, call (315) 333-1245 for a taste of the island.
