Parks/Recreation/Cultural: Casey Park and Thompson Park (Bear Creek Harbor) are local town parks with boat launch facilities available at Bear Harbor. A new town multi-generational community center opened in 2007. The Ontario Country Club provides 18 holes of golf, public membership and restaurant. The City of Rochester is home to the George Eastman House, Eastman Theatre, Blue Cross Arena, Auditorium Theatre, Rochester Museum & Science Center, International Museum of Play (formerly Strong Museum) and Frontier Field for cultural or sporting events.
Heritage Square Museum: 7147 Ontario Center Road, Ontario, consists of nine historic buildings furnished with period artifacts open to the public from June to September and maintained by the Town of Ontario Historical and Landmark Preservation Society. Transportation: State Routes 104 and 350 services The Town of Ontario. Average daily traffic count on NYS Rte. 104 (2009) was 22,220 (www.dot.ny.gov). The distance to the NYS Thruway is 20 miles to the south Ext #43 in Manchester; 20 miles to the west Exit #46 in Henrietta. The distance to the Greater Rochester International Airport is 30 miles. Interstate Routes 390, 490, and 590 connect the City of Rochester and Ontario to the suburbs and the NYS Thruway.
Ontario Senior Site: Located at Bldg. #1, in the recreation room at Brown Square Apartments Complex, 2100 Brown Square Rd. The site is open Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm to anyone in the community in need of a hot meal. A daily meal is served at 12 Noon. Additional social and craft programs are provided.
