ontario business of the monthAsphalt Rehabilitation Technologies, located in Ontario, NY, is featured by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Inc. as Business of the Month for May 2024.

Asphalt Rehab Tech was founded in 2014 under the parent company PRC Asphalt Maintenance LLC which was established in 2001. Longtime childhood friends, Peter Nowak and Joseph Griffin are the company’s owners/operators and have grown the company considerably in recent years.

Asphalt Rehab Tech greatly extends the lifespan of pavement eliminating the need for costly maintenance and frequent overlays that municipalities and businesses would otherwise need to rely on to maintain their asphalt. How exactly is it done?

The first thing to know is that their process is not a seal coating. As pavement ages, the chemical portions of the pavement (maltenes) oxidize out. Once the chemical portions are gone, the pavement loses its ability to bind the aggregate (asphaltenes). In addition, the pavement becomes brittle, having lost its flexibility.

With the use of specialized equipment, products, and processes, the Asphalt Rehab Technologies team chemically rehabilitates the pavement by reintroducing the binding components that have oxidized out. By doing this, they keep the pavement flexible, prolonging the life of the pavement. This process saves their customers millions of dollars and reduces the carbon footprint that accompanies frequent replacement.

Taking hours of operation, traffic patterns, and work schedules into consideration, they work intimately with their customers to minimize downtime and inconvenience. Asphalt Rehab Tech currently serves school districts, municipalities, businesses, and local governments across the East Coast. Rehabbing the pavement every 3 to 5 years as part of a Pavement Sustainability Plan, their clients can expect to save tremendous amounts of time and money on annual maintenance and costly overlays.
